Description
The Rescue Kit includes a constant flow rescue hood with a choice of 1m or 1.5m hose supplied in a convenient pouch. The constant flow hood is manufactured from polyurethane coated viscose. This is flame retardant and coloured for high visibility. This provides a stretch material for a comfortable fit combined with an elastomeric neck seal giving ease of donning. The hood is fitted with either a 1m or 1.5m hose with CEN fitting which will connect into an airline attachment or RSM Y-piece. The hood is provided on a length of hose fitted with a CEN type male coupling to connect into the Y-piece or waistbelt mounted RSM connection on 3M Scott SCBA sets. The constant flow hose is restricted to provide the hood wearer with enough airflow for rescue purposes without compromising the fire-fighters air supply.
The unit is quickly and easily activated by placing over the person’s head that requires rescuing and connecting the hose into the Y-piece or RSM attachment on the SCBA set. Upon doing this a constant flow of air is released into the hood. The carrying bag is manufactured from flame retardant PVC coated polyester, which attaches to the SCBA waist belt making it quick and easy to access in any rescue situation.
Applications
The rescue kit is suitable for use by fire fighters for rescue purposes only, simply remove the hood from the bag place the hood over the person needing to be rescued and then connect the hose to either an airline or Y-piece on the breathing apparatus. The hood is designed to fit all head sizes and the elastomeric neck seal giving ease of donning over spectacles, beards and long hair.
